with the GSDM. Learn about astronauts and explore

Discovery MuseumHarry Potter:  Magic or Science?
Welcome back to another year at the GSDM’s version of
Hogwarts School of Science! We’ll explore the mysteries
behind the magic of Harry Potter and his friends as we read
excerpts from the stories and compare the magical way to the
scientific way. Your child will experiment with and learn about
aerodynamics, genetics, optical illusions, and more. Each class
ends with a take home activity to help the exploration continue.

Discovery MuseumCSI: Crime Scene Investigations
Be a gumshoe! Get ready to solve some new kid-friendly
“crimes” with our in-house CSI detectives. Each week the Head
Criminologist will weave a cryptic story and request
that your child work with a team to cooperatively solve the
mystery. Your child will learn the skills and strategies real CSI
detectives use to solve mysteries as we crack secret codes,
analyze footprints and more.

Stuffee : Your Amazing Body

Discover the stuff you’re really made of with this fun filled anatomy lesson! Meet Stuffee, our seven-foot, blue haired friend from Gift of Life who turns his insides outside  just for you. Learn all about nutrition and how to stay healthy with this gut-sy guy!

Bubble Magic : The Science of Suds
Grades : Pre-K - 4
Why are bubbles round? Why can we see colors in them? Find out in this fun-filled workshop where we float through the world of science. You’ll even discover what it’s  like inside a giant bubble!

Explore just how sensational you are with our unique blend of hands-on activities and mini science experiments. Students will learn about their world through the five  senses and see how important they are in everyday life.

Act Up
Grades : 2 - 6
All the world’s a stage and you are the players! Learn the basics of theatre with crazy character director Stella Show, as we prepare for the big finale : a scene performed by you!

Become a Space Sleuth in an “out of this world” mystery that has the Shadow, The Sun Stealer on the run. Just why is our Solar System’s biggest star so valuable? Let’s track the clues and find out.

Kitchen Chemistry

Join our resident mad scientist as you perform fun (and safe!) science experiments with everyday kitchen supplies. We will be opening up our cabinets to concoct some   creative delights.

Planet Pirates

Ahoy there, maties! Calling all land lovers to learn their three Rrr’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Not only do the Planet Pirates protect and preserve planet Earth, they  create and keep their own “green” treasure.

Have a chance to see some of the creepiest crawlers you’ve ever laid (eight) eyes on and learn what makes them tick! We’ll explore three types of bugs and get up close         and personal to some of the Museum’s resident bugs.
