Important Group Information

  • All organized groups must consist of 10 people or more. All organized groups will be charged for a minimum of 10 people regardless of head count upon arrival.
  • To properly accommodate groups, advance reservations are required. To reserve a group visit, please call (856) 424-1233 ext. 305. Our friendly reservation staff will be happy to discuss available dates, times and other information that will help you prepare for your group’s visit to the Garden State Discovery Museum.

Chaperone Policy:

We ask that for every 4 children, there is one adult chaperone to ensure the best experience for all visitors. For every 4 children visiting, one adult chaperone is REQUIRED and will be admitted free of charge. Chaperones must be at least 18, and must remain with the children at all times.
Extra adults: $5.00 each.

*Museum memberships may not be used for group or field trip visits.

Payment Policy

A non-refundable $100.00 deposit is required 30 days prior to your visit. Purchase orders are accepted.
Entire visit must be paid in full, upon arrival. A confirmation letter will be sent upon receipt of deposit. On the day of your visit, you will be asked to pay for a minimum of 75% of your reserved number.

Food/Beverages

Reserve an indoor room for one half hour for $0.50 per child, or an outdoor space at no charge, weather permitting. A lunchroom will be provided free of charge for groups who reserve a workshop. Large groups may be asked to eat in shifts depending on room availability. Note: Our indoor snack area is not for groups. Brown bag lunches are welcome and will be placed in your assigned lunchroom. No food or beverages are to be taken onto the museum floor or into the Discovery Theater.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking. Buses are required to drop passengers off on Pin Road and park in the rear parking lot; third row first four spots. All groups must enter through the front entrance and check in at the front desk. Directions and museum maps are also available at the front desk.

A Place for Special People

The Museum is an exciting place to explore, and special attention has been given to making it accessible to everyone. Special-needs groups are always welcome. We have a large print map available, click here to download our Large Print Map  or pick one up at the front desk. Map will indicate areas that contain flickering lights or loud noises.
